After the main meal of the day have 2×1000 mg capsules of evening primrose oil and 2 x 1000 mg capsules of marine lipid concentrate (MaxEPA). If you have high cholesterol, have 4 x 1000 mg capsules of MaxEPA. Have a herbal laxative before bed if constipation is a problem.

For those who don’t like taking capsules and tablets, instead of the marine lipid concentrate you can take 1 dessertspoon of cod liver oil from the bottle, at any time of the day, except just before the main meal—too much oil reduces mineral absorption. Have it in vegetable juice, on tuna or salmon, on cooked brown rice, in mashed potato or take it straight with a vegetable juice chaser. Blackmore’s Deodorised Cod Liver Oil is the most palatable.

Make sure you have at least 1 teaspoon of some form of raw, cold pressed vegetable oil per day. Soya oil is best as it’s salicylate-free. Have this oil in addition to the oil you cook with. Either take it straight off the spoon or in a salad dressing. Have it at any time of the day except just before the main meal. If having it over the e salad make sure you consume a full teaspoon’s worth. It might pay to pour at least 1 dessertspoon of oil over the salad to ensures this.
